About ON Engineers
We are an established group of professional engineers (PE) and licensed electrical workers (LEW) with more than 1,000 Energy Market Authority (EMA) electrical installation license(s) in our portfolio and a proven track record with many prestigious companies.
Essential Services offers basic licensed electrical worker (LEW) services, including applications for SP services, basic compliance to Energy Market Authority (EMA) regulations, inspection and switching (turn on/off) services as well as shutdown maintenance of electrical switchboards and transformers.
Technical Services anchored by our senior electrical professional engineer (PE) Er. Lee (a well-regarded practitioner in the electrical engineering field) provides clients with specialized technical consultancy and serves various industries with electrical systems that require more technically detailed design and solutions.Read More
Our licensed electrical worker (LEW) services and electrical work fall under three main specializations: Condition Monitoring, Electrical Systems Studies and Licensing Services.View All Our Services
Condition Monitoring (CM) is a term in the field of electrical professional engineering that refers to the science and practice of taking measurements of an electrical system to determine its health and life expectancy.
Our CM services have evolved from basic scanners to advanced techniques that enable owners to apply predicative or preventive maintenance in their electrical works and installation.
Our customized CM services are sought after in particular by installations that are too costly-to-fail such as datacenters or even upscale hotels. We have many success cases of early Partial Discharge (PD) detection that helped clients predict, mitigate and therefore avoid unplanned failure. According to research, sudden power outage in a datacenter can cost up to S$10.00 a minute!ENQUIRE HERE
Electrical System Study and Design
Electrical System Studies (ESS) is a specialist branch of LEW services unique to ON Engineers and few electrical services providers.
With decades of ESS experience and application of industry leading software, ON Engineers is able to provide comprehensive ESS solutions to our clients covering a wide range of modules including Arc Flash, Short Circuit Analysis, Relay Coordination, Harmonic Analysis, Load Flow and Motor Starting Computation.
Our engineers work with the client and licensed electrical worker (LEW) on projects ranging from new builds, plant extensions and equipment upgrades.ENQUIRE HERE
Licensing is the most basic of LEW services. To comply with Singapore's Electricity Act, nearly all electrical installations (except residential units) require an EMA electrical installation license applied through a licensed electrical worker (LEW). The primary purpose of the LEW is to hold responsibility (as an appointed engineer by the EMA) for the safety of the installation, to perform the major switching operations and ensure that electrical faults (if any) do not affect neighboring installations.
ON Engineers' strength lie in the length of our establishment, the depth of our experience and the breath of our portfolio. Growing and learning from our broad spectrum of clients from datacenters to restaurants, we have not only improved our technical expertise to deliver complex electrical works and projects but also developed low-cost electrical services for standard buildings by leveraging on scale, productivity and innovation.
LEW fees generally range from a few hundred dollars a year to several thousands, depending on how large the electrical installation is in terms of its approved load. The higher the approved load and the incomer voltage, the higher the LEW qualification or grade required to hold the installation license. In addition to the LEW fees, there are fees payable to EMA for annual license renewals and to SP services for connection, meter installations and other municipal services.
Other factors in determining LEW fees include: the scope of LEW services in addition to license holding, the frequency and scope of inspection, and other technical as well as commercial considerations.ENQUIRE HERE
